Why Should You Use A Travel Agent

Q: I’m a student and need to interview a travel agent!?
Okay I know this is lame, but I’ve called around and either the agents are too busy or won’t answer the phone at all. If someone on here is a travel agent and wouldn’t mind answering 9 easy question from a student, please respond to this post.
Like I said, I’m a student doing this for my tourism class and I’d really appreciate the help.
Thanks!
Here they are! No personal info needed! Thanks!

Why should someone use a travel agent instead of the internet to book a trip?
Notes:
A: I ud love to answer ur question but unfortunately am not a travell agent and dont work with one. I can tell you one thing. booking flights thru internet is easier and better although the ticket is expensive. In General the best way to get a ticket is thru the air company or at the airport. Travell agents can be…… some times. good luck in ur work.
Q: should i get a job as a disney world travel agent?
i love disney world and have been there 45 times. i am always answering disney world question on Y/A and when people ask how much their vacation will cost i mock one up for them using the disney world website or i refer people to mock one up for themselves (not sure why most people think its too hard to do for themselves)
when ever someone in my family asks something about disney world i’m always right there with the answer. sometimes they will say oh hey i saw this commercial….. and i’ll say yeah i’ve known about that for a while now.
and lately my family and friends have been telling me i should be a disney world travel agent and now its got me seriously considering it.
just wondered what you guys think about it?
oh and just wanted to mention that fact that we usually book our vacations thru AAA cuz they give a small discount and some extra perks like the character story time in the town hall at magic kingdom. and so anyways we just went out to AAA the other day to talk about what we hope is our next disney world trip and i knew more than the travel agent did about prices and hotels and park tickets. infact i had to correct her on a couple of things so do you think that shows that i have the knowledge to become a disney trael agent?
A: You totally should! I’ve seen your answers and you know your stuff! You should write to websites like allears.net, wdwinfo or the guys at wdwtoday… they might be able to point you in the right direction. If it’s what you know and it’s what you’re passionate about then you should go for it. I mean if I could just talk about DisneyWorld all day I would be like the happiest of all kittens! Good luck, let us know how you do!

Q: I need info! Have you been to the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam?
My boyfriend and I are really wanting to go this year. We’re going to Ireland for a week before so would it be better to fly from Ireland to Amsterdam or use the rail system? Also, which is a better option: renting a house (or apartment) for a week, or just getting a hotel? Is it better to rent a car or just use taxis? How much more expensive is their food, restaurants, neccesities etc., etc. Neither one of us has been to Europe which is why I am asking so many questions. Should I just hire a travel agent or are they just a waste of money?
Thanks for the link, but I already read High Times and have them as one of my faves on the internet. They don’t really help me out with my questions. Plus, most of the hotels that they feature look pretty sh*tty. Thanks though! I appreciate ALL feedback!
A: For a week in Amsterdam it is not useful to have a car.
Amsterdam has a very good system of trams and busses, with a few metro (underground) trains for the farther suburbs. You will not need either taxis nor a car in town, not even after midnight.
If you are going to travel round the Netherlands it might be worth it, but public transport is pretty good.
Flying is the better option, as train travel through England is very expensive and the ferries cost as much or more than the flight.
You can expect the prices in Amsterdam to be like Dublin or Belfast or any bigger city you are familiar with, you can get lucky and find a cheap restaurant, or you can spend a fortune.
I like the many small places on the Zeedijk, (Nieuwmarkt towards the central station.) Not to expensive and much choice.
A cheap option many budget travelers like is buying a cooked lunch and self-cater for sandwiches for dinner and breakfast. There is a supermarket at Nieuwmarkt.
http://www.atlas.amsterdam.nl/asp/get.asp?map_width=600&map_height=450&view=&laag=topografie&xdl=Stadsplattegrond&xsl=Default&zoekstraat=&huisnummer=&postcode=&panning=&point=true&minx=121042.48&maxx=122626.48&miny=486476.4&maxy=487664.4&zoom=2500&mapguide_input.x=300&mapguide_input.y=61
You will not be able to rent a house for just a week, and appartments in Amsterdam are not cheap, so a hotel might be as cheap.
Walk into a travel agents and ask for a pack-price for a week in Amsterdam, and then go to internet and search for the same things.
Sometimes the packs are much cheaper, and a travel agent will add about 20 Euro to the bill, but they will take care you have all you need.
PS.
I have not been to the Cannabis Cup, and will not go there, but this is info about Amsterdam that is always right.
Q: Does she like me or is she just planning to use me?
I contacted a beautiful 26 yr old blonde female on “match” website. Accroding to her profile she lives Cody, WY. She replied to my initial message by asking me to write her to her private e-mail account (to which I did). Now her English wasn’t very good so I thought she was born somewhere outside of US. Anyway, after exchanging three e-mails, I found out that she lives in Russia. On her 13th email, she suggests we meet in person in Europe or elsewhere. On her 14th email, she said she went to see a travel agent so that she can come visit me here in US. I replied her 14th email by saying we are moving too fast and that we should not meet for now. On her last (15th, this morning) e-mail, she still insist on meeting me.
This actually concerns me because I am now thinking she might just want to come to US. Afterall, I am just an average 25 yr old single asian american. A very attractive girl like her can pick any guy in the world. Why me?
What do you think? Any suggestions?
A: Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you’re wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!
Q: Travel Project to Venice, Italy, good choice?
I have a travel project to do for my International Business class. Is venice, italy a good choice?
we are given a $3000 US dollars budget. this is for 2 people going on a 7 day 6 nite trip. using the $3000, we need to decided to have the airline tickets without travel agents, hotel to stay in, at least one different restaurant a day, 2 alternate transportations (no taxis of rental cars), landmark visits, 2 activities( ex: horseback riding, hiking). we are allowed to choose when we go so the airlines are cheaper. Our starting location is texas.
Do you think venice, italy is a good place to go with just $3000?
It transfers to euros so the money is 2,126.94 in euros. I don’t know the average spending a day in europe so i’m not sure if that is enough for the whole trip.
give me some feedback on whether or not i should stick with venice or whether i should choose a different location. it has to be out of the US. if you suggest another one, pls include why it would be better. thanks!
A: You might want to pick somewhere else here in Italy since Venice is one of the most expensive places here. I think you’ll find that just the airfare uses most of your budget for two tickets coming to Europe in general and then there’s the loss in value going from dollars to Euro.
Most of your items would be pretty easy to find answers for if you choose Venice though. Transportation options are limited – there’s walking, the vaporetto (water bus) or water taxis, but that gives you what you need. There are lots of sites where you can find information on hotels and hostels. I use this one: http://www.venere.com/hotels/italy/ You be albe to find a lot of information on restaurants, museums, galleries and other things to do here.
I think you’d be better off selecting somewhere closer to Texas where your airfare doesn’t consume so muuch of the budget. I would look into places like Belize, Costa Rica, or one of the islands like St Martin or Aruba. The airfare between Texas and Venice is likely to run over $1000 per person which doesn’t leave much for a week for the two people. I just bought a round trip ticket between Italy and Colorado for the end of February which cost over $1100 just for the one ticket. The airport in Italy is Verona which is relatively close to Venice.
Q: Moon Plalace or Playacar Palace for Wedding…?
Hi,
This question is for those that have had a destination wedding at Moon or Playacar Palace…
My Fiance and I have been going back and forth between a few resorts. First I fell in love with Playacar Palace, and now I even forget why I decided against it, especially because I am now going back to it!! Then I decided on Moon Palace – again…not sure why I decided on Moon over Palace. Finally I changed my mind, and decided on Dreams Puerto Aventuras. This resort is not yet opened, and I was told that the pricing would be very low – which I liked!! Now, I am finding out that the pricing will be about the same as Moon and Playacar, and the communication with them hasn’t been good at all. Also, the packages at Palace resorts are a lot better than Dreams PA, and Palace has great group rates, while Dreams PA has none basically.
So, now I am wondering if we should go with Moon or Playacar. How were the rates? Did you get good group rates and deals? I am a little concerned about the ‘no beach’. Did you take the Ferry into Cozumel at all?
If you gone through the same thing and used a good travel agent, can you supply me with their contact info?
Thanks soooo much for all your help! I need to figure this out ASAP!!
A: Honestly, I wouldn’t stay at either or recommend them to anyone. Playacar has no beach basically and while everyone rants and raves about Moon Palace it’s not even close to being just average. Moon Palace is like a super jazzed up motel six style hotel and the water is not that pretty and also the beach for that matter is nothing special by any means. Playacar Palace has nice water, but again it’s quaint and tiny and really no beach and not very romantic I don’t think. If at all possible I would try to find a better honeymoon destination. Your honeymoon is supposed to be memorable and I wouldn’t advise wasting precious memories on either of these low grade resorts. Keep in mind you are spending a lot of money so you shouldn’t be forced into taking a ferry to another destination. I’d look around if I was you to see what else suits your needs and fancy. There are a lot better hotels/resorts in the area that are better and more suited for a great honeymoon. That’s all I can really say about it. I wouldn’t bother with either. I would definitely reconsider your options. However you choose to go though I wish the best of luck to you and congratulations on your wedding.
Q: science prodject help please i need all the help i can get?
This assignment will be part of your systems of the body project. This is Part II of the project. You will complete this portion of the project now. By the end of Lesson 16, you will have completed 5 parts of your project–each one on a different system of the body. For this part, you will conduct research on the left and right sides of the brain and the activities they each control. You may use the library or websites. Some keywords you can use in your research are:
left brain
right brain
brain hemispheres
Although all healthy people have active right and left sides of the brain, some researchers believe that most people are more strongly controlled by one side or the other.
When you feel you have learned something about the left and right sides of the brain, make up a list of questions to ask five people to find out if they are more right- or left-brain oriented. You should include questions about what they like to do, their skills, and weaknesses. For example, someone very good at math and learning foreign languages is probably more controlled by the left side of their brain. When you finish interviewing all five people, write a report on what you have discovered. Include the following in your report:
Skills most likely controlled by the left side of the brain.
Skills most likely controlled by the right side of the brain.
List of the people you interviewed and why you think they are more strongly controlled by one side of the brain as opposed to the other side.
This assignment is Part III of your Systems of the Body Project. This part of the project will focus on the digestive system.
For this assignment, pretend that you are a travel agent. However, instead of leading people on tours of places on Earth, you lead people on tours of the human body. Imagine that you need to design a travel brochure that describes the digestive system. Name and disuss each part of the digestive system and let your clients know all about the features of each part. You can be creative as you work through this project; just be sure to properly describe each part and its features.
Download the assignment form for entering your work. Click here to download. Follow your teacher’s instructions for submitting this assignment.
An example description is given here to help get you started, but you can use your imagination to complete this assignment however you want.
Example
Stop #1 on our fantastic digestive system tour is the mouth. Filled with teeth, the mouth is just right for chewing, crushing and grinding. It’s a mechanical digestion machine! Come on in and notice these salivary glands. They may look small, but these glands can produce almost 3 pints of saliva every day. They begin the work of chemical digestion and turn that slice of pizza into a mushy slushy mix. Take a look around, but watch out for any signs of swallowing, or you’ll get pushed right down the esophagus!
The Digestive System: A Travel Brochure
Enter your “travel brochure” description of the digestive system here. You may want to make each main part of the digestive system one stop on the tour. Describe what travelers will see at each stop and what will happen there. Make sure that you take travelers all the way through the system from the mouth to the large intestine.
Use the following terms in your travel brochure:
üMouth
üEsophagus
üSaliva
üEnzyme
üPeristalsis
üSmall Intestine
üStomach
üVilli
üLarge Intestine
üBile
üPancreatic Juice
üIntestinal Juice

Q: Should I go along with this, or….? ( Has to do with plotline)?
Should her mother be an actress or not?
PLOT LINE SO FAR:
A girl is the daughter of a famous actress. Her father was her boyfriend from when she was young (seventeen, about) and before she went into the acting business (Bisuness? Buisiness? Buisness?) who left her when he found out she was pregnant. The media knows about her, but very little, being as she is hidden from the media inside her mother’s house, taught by selected tutors. She’s thirteen, give or take. She’s quiet, but stubborn and quick minded. Also, she inherited her talent from her mother. She secretly sneaks out of the house when her studies are over, or when there is no schooling and everyone excpects her to entertain herself. Before, she alters her appearence by just a bit. She travels to places by bus or by walking, and takes on a whole new personality. She’s the girl at the bookstore with the kentucky accent, looking for a book on cooking desserts to make for when her elderly aunt comes to visit, the girl at the petshop asking advice on her brother’s new snake, just a random, unkown girl, completley different in every place she visits. Latley, she senses that somone has been following her. Anyways, one day she gets summoned to the police; she has no idea why. It turns out, a policeman had been confused at seeing the same girl two times, looking the same but behaving completley different. He just let this go. But, the third time this happened, he was sure it was the same girl, and that something odd was going on. He’d kept an eye on her, finding her usual spots and amused by this strange girl who became different people every place she went. He began watching her at long distance, watching how easily she became the other person and developed their false identity. Completley beleivable. He’d brought it up to his boss, and from that, it traveled to aimportant govermental figure, who’d been told by an.. agent, I should say.
At the police station, the agent of that important person was there, explaining why she’d been summoned. Thy tell her that her acting talents and impersonation abitilities have been noticed, and they’d like to put them to good use. For the goverment, they say.
It’s too long to tell you the whole thing, but basiclly they want her to join a sort of… spy academy. She could help the goverment, they say, so talented that she is.
Of course, she joins, looking for adventure. It’s not like school, with all that junk, but the spy basics. It’ll be only six months, I think. Then, They’ll send her out on what they think is a simple, easy mission, which is sort of a ‘traiing mission’ because she’s got to convince them that she’s a boy and must gather as much information as she can. She’s being sent to a all-boys boarding school for the mission. AS I said, just to gather information. However, the case is much more dangerous then anyone thought, and the girl gets deeply involved…
So, should she ne the daughter of a famous actress, or if not, what would her parent’s be (status, etc. etc, etc….)
Thanks in advance!!!
A: Whoa, it took me a few secs to figure out that the second “her” in “her father was her boyriend” was the mom. LOL.
If you are making it an espionage story, it almost makes more sense to have her parents be involved with the government, like foreign ambassadors or something. This way, she will have moved around a lot as a child. And maybe then it makes more sense that her parents kept her “locked up”, for her own safety. (For example, what if the parents were ambassadors in Pakistan, and they worried that if she went out, she could be a potential target for kidnapping? And THEN it makes her escapades out on her own even more impressive. You’d have to be very comfortable with the country and culture though, so this will take some serious research. It doesn’t hav to be Pakistan, it could even be some made up country (in Africa, maybe?), but it should be some region where it’s hostile and dangerous to be wandering about outside the embassy.
That would also make more sense because she has access to the wealth and foreign literature that an ambassador would have (to learn from), plus the “help”, from whom she would learn to speak the native language(s) fluently (including dialects).
And it would also be more plausible that someone from the government just “happens” to notice her, then recruits her as a spy.
Q: Should I go along with this, or not…? (Something involved in my story plotline)?

A: No, don’t change anything. I think your plot is great. Still, the reason why she’s gets home-schooled is a bit weak. Get a stronger reason like, maybe the mother didn’t want the public interfering and spoiling the daughter’s life or something. it’s even more fun when no one can recognise the girl, even though the mother is famous.
Everything else is perfect. Just be careful about advertising your plot line like this in future.
Q: Attention, all smart people! Should I change this…?
Should I cahange the fact that her mother is a famous actress…?

Then, They’ll send her out on what they think is a simple, easy mission, which is sort of a ‘traiing mission’ because she’s got to convince them that she’s a boy and must gather as much information as she can. She’s being sent to a all-boys boarding school for the mission. AS I said, just to gather information. However, the case is much more dangerous then anyone thought, and the girl gets deeply involved…
So, should she ne the daughter of a famous actress, or if not, what would her parent’s be (status, etc. etc, etc….)
Thanks in advance!!!
A: It would be fine with what you have or you could try to twist it and have it to where for her first mission she has to info on some guy that she knows nothing about, but as it turns out the guy, is her father and who she thought was the government, was really a secret organization that is planing on attacking the government, just an idea hope i helped u out.
good luck and keep writing
Q: WHY ARE WE BEING TERRORIZED BY BACTERIA LIVING IN THE CLOUDS?
Do you know that the weather catastrophes are manipulated by Bacteria? The clouds are made to look like smoke to deceive the flame planet, which bacteria named after themselves, Sun, above us, which is supposed to annihilate bacteria. With the smokes made from barbecuing meat and smokes from places that have volcanoes, icy clouds are formed, but bacteria arranged them to look like smoke coming from a furnace, which this place is supposed to be. Why? Because Bacteria are not supposed to exist in this place called Earth, which is a tent held by wind and which the moon being closed caused to be submerged in water. We are not supposed to exist here either.
The clouds are giant icy webs of smoke barbecued resulting partly from barbecued sacrificial meat, where a group of bacteria live to rule calling themselves gods and goddesses; and they cause cyclones, storms, and other catastrophes. It is a great scheme to be had by those who eat us: bacteria. They can make rain or they can move the clouds to let flame scorch the earth.
By dispersing us all over the planet and displacing us to weaken us, bacteria put us in places of dangers where we live closer to the flame planet, Bacteria rule the planet through war and terror.
Bacteria control the planet and all that is in it. Even the penguins are controlled by icy blasts of bacterial wind that blows on them to prevent them from overpopulating earth since they eat bacteria. Everything that consumes bacteria are attacked, dispersed, war against each other, and are preventing from overpopulating.
Bacteria are not supposed to exist on this place. Even when we have the mean to defeat bacteria, through dispersing us and make us speak different languages bacteria control the outcome. Bacteria created a giant web over us in the form of clouds and farm us and use us as its puppets or artificial robots with them at the controls and are ruling the planet.
We have bacteria inside our intestines and those who are controlled by bacteria told us that yogurts are good for us. But Bacteria live in these yogurts and they are only good to reproduce bacteria in our body.
Bacteria control the planet in the form of the bloodless and the heartless: moth, mosquitoes, flies, fruitflies, centipedes, roaches, and such. These animals are agents of bacteria and they are pure bacteria in a shell. They carry bacterial pouches of air, which they release when are attacked. This air causes hallucination and that is where dreams come from. They are messengers of death and diseases.
Centipedes carry 3 pouches of air, which they release when sprayed on. So Bug sprays should have antibacterial agents as well that neutralizes the air coming from those bacterial critters when they are being exterminated. That is why roaches die on their back. They have to release the bacterial air as they are dying, which air is very dangerous for all in their surrounding.
I don’t like the cockiness of the weather reporters. Instead of chasing wind, they should study the air. The name “Air” is a scrambled word for RA and Ri, the religious gods of the Asian people. All bacterial headquarters are located in Asia and from there they have ambassadors all over the surface of earth. When people travel, they bring bacterial bugs that kill people that they consider enemies of their bacterial kingdoms. As you can see, Earth is ruled by Bacteria that name themselves Ra and Re. The bacteria name everything after themselves.
Religion is a bacterial virus where the bacteria keep all under control by causing them fear and by tormenting their victims. That is why people are naming themselves after the vermins of the earth. People call themselves Cobra, Viper, and such because the bacteria from these animals live in them and replicate in them, thereby make these people their mobile vehicle or their puppets. The insects are ventriloquists that make people talk for them and defend them. As long as we have bacteria in us, we are controlled by these nasty viruses, which are servants of the Bacteria living in the outside world. All crimes are committed by bacteria using our species and other species.
So please start studying the weather environment with new eyes and new understanding. Although we are all being manipulated by bacteria due to bacterial agents living in us, but we can overcome bacteria by taking antibacterial medicines and take laxative to wash our belly and stop eating raw food in any form. The wind that blows innocently on earth is not innocent since it picks us all types of bacteria on the surface of the earth and fill us with it. Our nose hair cannot filter all these bacteria coming at us and bacteria in people counsel them to remove their nose air to get better access at their breathing system. And if we eat raw food, we have to sanitize it first because our body cannot kill bacteria in the food when it is raw. Bacteria don’t care about the acid in our stomach; they have learned to
Emucompb, the bacteria defender is an agent of bacteria. Bacteria live in our intestine in the form of miniature snakes called worms. Before we died, just like the octopus, they populate our intestines with eggs. The worms parents in our body worship the snakes outside as their gods and goddesses; they die with us, but trust their babies in the hands of the snakes in the living. That is why the snakes in the living prepare the dead before burial as if that person was not dead. In fact the actual person is dead, but the offsprings are alive and cared for before they hatch after the body decayed. So, who are taking care of the body of the dead? The miniature snakes living in the living. We have contacted snakes, roaches, and mosquitoes of all bloodless and heartless viruses. Octopuses have shown what happens to the snakes living inside humans. Octopus mimick them totally. That is why octopus let themselves be eaten so their kids can escape and become gods and goddesses of Asia.
A: You’re blaming bacteria for a lot of things that they’re not responsible for.
I recommend you read a balanced biology text to learn more about the way ecology works. For starters, read this one cover to cover:
Campbell & Reece Biology, 7th edition
Since it’s not the latest edition, you can get it at a discount on EBay.
Q: Could you accidentally send your baby though an x ray machine?
A woman going through security at Los Angeles International Airport put her month-old grandson into a plastic bin intended for carry-on items and slid it into an X-ray machine.
The early Saturday accident — bizarre but not unprecedented — caught airport workers by surprise, even though the security line was not busy at the time, officials said.
A screener watching the machine’s monitor immediately noticed the outline of a baby and pulled the bin backward on the conveyor belt.
The infant was taken to Centinela Hospital, where doctors determined that he had not received a dangerous dose of radiation.
Officials, who declined to release the 56-year-old woman’s name, said she spoke Spanish and apparently did not understand English.
She initially didn’t want the baby transported to a hospital, but security officials called paramedics and insisted that the child be examined by a doctor.
The grandmother and the child were subsequently allowed to board an Alaska Airlines flight to Mexico City.
The rare incident drew attention to whether officials are staffing often-busy security checkpoints enough to prevent such an accident. And it raised questions about the danger of X-rays used to pick out suspicious metal shapes in passenger bags, given the medical community’s warnings that even low amounts of radiation can build up over a lifetime.
“Rather than focus on the radiation dose, which is a small amount, we need to focus on why this happened, so it doesn’t happen again,” said Dr. James Borgstede, a diagnostic radiologist at Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems in Colorado Springs, Colo., and president of the American College of Radiology. “Human beings weren’t meant to go through those things.”
In the several seconds the baby spent in the machine, the doctor added, he was exposed to as much radiation as he would naturally get from cosmic rays — or high energy from outer space — in a day.
Security experts said the incident underscored a more widespread concern about the screening process at LAX and other airports.
“The screeners are still reporting that they’re being pushed,” said Brian Sullivan, a retired Federal Aviation Administration security agent. “If a baby can get through, what the hell else can get through?”
Nico Melendez, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, which manages LAX screeners, said the agency doesn’t have enough workers to constantly stand at tables in front of the screeners to coach passengers on what should or should not be sent through X-ray machines.
But in some cases, airlines contract with private companies to staff the tables and assist travelers. The TSA will also occasionally put employees at the tables if extra workers are available.
TSA screeners often ask passengers to put their coats, shoes, laptops and other items into the bins, Melendez said. But they cannot observe everything people place there, because they must monitor screening equipment, he added.
Still, he said that the TSA works hard to educate passengers about what carry-on objects require screening and that travelers must take responsibility for knowing these rules.
“There’s an obligation on the traveler to use some common sense,” said Larry Fetters, the TSA’s federal security director at LAX. “If they don’t understand, they should ask somebody. If they ask us, we are generally able to find someone who speaks that language and assist them.”
On its website, the TSA posts extensive tips for travelers, including a section titled “Traveling With Children.”
One item reads: “Never leave babies in an infant carrier while it goes through the X-ray machine.”
There are also signs posted in English and Spanish at ticket counters and near security checkpoints warning passengers that they must put metal objects, such as cellphones, pagers and car keys, into bins that go through X-ray machines.
A: Thank God that baby was ok…….first of all she is 56 years old.She may be senile.
Q: Any lawyers out there, credit card issue (this is weird) plane ticket refund?
Hi, I know I should be paying for any profession advice but I just can’t afford it.
Here’s my story, I booked a ticket with Emirates Airways through a travel agent for a flight over to Perth costing me about 1000 U.K pounds.
I decided to cancel which was agreed with the travel agent no problem
they contacted Emirates and the refund was made but instead of crediting my account they charged it again so know I’m 2000 pounds out of pocket.
Let me explain what happens when you ask for a refund (this is just what I have been told so I hope it makes sense.
Travel agent applies to Emirates for the refund they say ok then it go’s into a sort of holding account called a (BSP) billing statement program or something like that.
I will point out at this stage that the flight was booked using my mum’s credit card that is through her bank in England (I booked it through a travel agent in Sweden where I live).
Ok then once its in this BSP thing it go’s onto Visa Sweden who then forward the payment onto my mum’s credit card BUT instead of a refund the money was taken out again.
The travel agents are saying they can not see anything wrong with Emirates refunding the payment and Visa Sweden forwarding the payment.
So the payment was sent I guess but why has my mums card been billed again.
I have travel agent working on this and my mum will be talking to her bank today.
Can anyone give me any advice on this as I’m totally confused?
Very tricky question but any advice will be most welcome if anyone wants more info I’ll try and provide it.
Thanks for reading
stop the spam where the hell is this crap coming from.
Ignore them 2 stupid spam mails
A: Your best bet is to have the credit card owner start a dispute with the card issuing bank. They should take it off the account immediately, pending resolution. Then they will issue a permanent credit when it’s resolved. They are in a better position to clear this up bank-to-bank than you are.
Note: the dispute resolution rules are one of the reasons I always use a credit card instead of a debit card for this sort of thing.
