Q: Where is a unique, inexpensive honeymoon destination?
I don’t want to go to the bahamas, caribbean, or hawaii. I want to go somewhere more unique that gives us plenty of options for activities and that doesn’t break the bank. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the answers! I suppose I should mention that I don’t have much money for plane tickets… so I will probably have to stay in the US and I really don’t totally enjoy beaches.

A: There are several destination ideas here:

http://www.honeymoongiveaway.com/destinationsaev.html

That site also includes a sweepstakes to win a honeymoon!

Q: I am looking for a unique honeymoon destination… any ideas?

A: If you are looking for seclusion and warm beautiful beaches. Look at St. Johns USVI. Really secluded and the beaches there are not overran with people, snorkeling is great but the seclusion is wonderful. Google Cinnamon Bay St Johns,USVI

Q: Can anyone recommend an unique travel destination for a honeymoon in April/May 2007?
Us or International

A: Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador

Q: i need a unique midwest US travel destination for a honeymoon..?
the time frame is in october of next year and we have a limited income…

A: It isn’t midwest, but Tennessee is a fab place to visit. Nashville and Memphis are both different, yet very happening cities. You’ve also got plenty of country and outdoorsy places to camp, hike etc. The people are friendly, and prices are reasonable.

Q: Honeymoon destination suggestions?
The fiance and I are trying to think of a good honeymoon destination. We’re looking for someplace memorable and unique. We’re up to trying new things – like SCUBA diving – or hitting museums during the day and clubs at night. Our budget is $5K. Any suggestions?

A: How about LA? Very fun and memorable. Its romantic too!

Also if u could find a cheap enough flight, Hawaii would be perfect!

Have you ever heard of Hotwire.com? Discount hotels car rentals and flights but its a great deal! Its not like its cheap hotels or anything. (and no by cheap i do not mean inexpensive)

Congratulations on being engaged btw!

Q: What do you think of a honeymoon to this destination?
Australia
I know my boyfriends dream country to visit is Australia [after Canada to see me of course haha]
anyways
what do you think?

also.. should we go to like Sydney or what are some really funky unique yet romantic ideas?

thanks!
ella

A: Oh yes of COURSE!!!!!!!

I live in Sydney, and I am going to Tropical North Queensland to get married in a rainforeset (sooo beautiful and romantic up there).

So for a romantic honeymoon destination I would definately recommend Port Douglas in North Queensland and the surrounds, white sandy beaches, beautiful rainforests etc.

Sydney and Melbourne are great if you love the city lifestyle, but as for romantic, nope well I don’t think so, but you could start in Sydney and go to Queensland from there.

Good luck and do lots of research! If you love 5 star resorts, I would recommend Peppers Bale Resort, Sea Temple, Sheraton Resort in Port Douglas (drive from Cairns airport) or for a unique rainforest experience, Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa (a little cheaper) – that’s where I’m getting married! Up in North Queensland the Great Barrier Reef is at your doorstep.

Good luck!!

Q: Not your typical honeymoon . . . ideas?
I am looking for some honeymoon destination ideas along the East Coast of the US (Maine to Florida are all fair game).
Preferably somewhere with nice weather in Spring or Fall. We’re not into snow and my other half doesn’t love the beach. I was thinking Savannah, Georgia but would like to hear about other unique places along the East Coast.
It doesn’t have to be fancy or specifically romantic.

A: Williamsburg, Va is a great place…lots of nice romantic B&B’s which really help with the honeymoon experience….look at this website

http://www.governorstrace.com/breakfast.html

for an idea how romantic it can be. There is plenty to do in Williamsburg…lots of historical stuf….if you like that sort of thing…lots of good college bars for the under 30’s…lots of good traditional resturants and williamsburg winery for the over 30’s and there is Busch gardens for the lovers of rollercoasters.

Also…the wine country in Virginia…around the Charlottesvile area is great. Its so beautiful up there and perfect if you like wine…also…the university of Virginia (a world heritage site) and Monticello are good places to pass an afternoon if you get sick of the wineries.

Q: best honeymoon places in USA?
I’m getting married in June of 2011, as of right now! I’m trying to decide a honeymoon destination so we can get it reserved and start paying it off. I don’t want anywhere outside of America, nor Hawaii or Alaska. Prefers a beach, but doesnt have to be. I just want somewhere unique and romantic. I’m thinking of New York or somewhere in Florida. IS New york a fun place to go in june?! whats there to do there then?!

thank you soo muchh
not hawaii, because we dont want to spend $3000 just for the trip. we want to spend around $3500 total for the whole trippp.

and i prefer somewhere in continental USA. so no jamaica, puerto rico, etcc.

Q: 10th wedding anniversary. Vacation destinations?
Next year will me my tenth wedding anniversary. I am looking for a dream vacation. I thought about Mexico but I really want something special and unique. This will be our honeymoon because we had a newborn when we got married.

I don’t want it to be an overly expensive location either. We just upgraded to our dream home this past year and cash is not in an over abundance. We live in Wisconsin and I definitely want to go someplace outside of the USA.

Any suggestions would be great. Something unique and not someplace that every tourist goes. So that we have stories that are one of a kind to compare with our friends and family.

A: Belize is close, they speak english, have the second largest reef in the world, mayan ruins in the jungle, and have great music and seafood. There are several resorts as well that are safe and not overly expensive.
You’ll love it!

Q: Need help to plan my Honeymoon trip coming up in June 09?
I am getting married in Kolkata on 8th June. I am yet to plan the honeymoon trip as i have surfed alot and it has only made me more confused. My to be wife always wanted to go abroad. i went thru all the packages in Asia ( as that’s what looked like a reasonable rate ) but then some of my friends suggested that it will be equally or more hot than Indian weather at this moment in Malaysia, Maldives, Thailand or Singapore. Trip to any of these places was not coming below Rs.65000/- and then go there n get roasted like in India didn’t sound like a great option for honeymoon atleast. So i got stuck with choices.Trip to cooler European destinations were way too highly priced to be in my budget.
Finally, i had to look for options in India. Read about trips tp Kullu, Manali, Darjeeling, Kodaikanal, Ooty, Andaman etc. but then i feel these trips can be done anytime and these are the most common places that people travel on honeymoon. Honeymoon trip should be different and unique so that we can cherish it thru out the life. I want to give her a wonderful and surprising experience.

So, as u can make out, i am utterly confused. Need all your advices and suggestions to fix it quickly as bookings will have to be done in advance

Please pour in your responses.

A: approach a good travel agency who will guide and advice you into various places including the climatic conditions.
take your would be wife also for sorting out the issues as her opinion would be also valuable – joint decisions far better than isolated ones.
She would be much pleased for confiding in her and seeking her opinion. Good luck & enjoy.

Q: Honeymoon gift?
For my sister’s bridal shower, which is only two days before the wedding, i am going to make her something unique she could take with her on her honeymoon. They are driving and not taking a plane to their destination. I wanted to maybe get her an ice bucket and wine glasses and fill the bucket with the glasses, wine and chocolate and stuff like that. Romantic stuff she can take on her trip which is going to be at a beach. Nothing too sexy because my mom is going to be at the party. Please give me suggestions on what I should include in the bucket.

A: Very very cute idea!!

Champagne
Champagne glasses
Chocolates
Candles
Risky but you could do some of that heated lubrication stuff
Maybe tuck a satin nightgown in (sexy but tasteful)

Q: Honeymoon HELP please. I’m in a dilemma…?
I’m getting married in September of next year. We aren’t one of those couples who are made of money. We actually have to save to have our wedding and honeymoon. We were thinking about taking a cruise but with the recent hurricanes we have changed our minds. September is hurricane season and I don’t want to be biting my nails wondering if I will have to deal with that.
Then we thought Vegas…lots of fun. But by the time we book our flights and hotel we have already spent TWO grand and that doesn’t even include food or any events…JUST the hotel and flight. We could get a cruise for the same price and that includes shows, food, and more than one destination.
We live in a small town in central Illinois where people are just average. Most people work in factories and none of us have tons of money. A honeymoon is a big deal to us and we want it to be special and unique,..but we are also on a budget.
We don’t have any specific destination ideas and we are fine with any type of climate(sunny, cool, whatever). Any suggestions are welcome and VERY appreciated. Thank you so much!

A: I am getting married next fall too. One thing I looked into was this awesome thing called a honeymoon registry. Google it. You book your honeymoon, (you could talk to a travel agent, tell them this is what we can spend, where can we go) and then people can choose to help you with your honeymoon instead of buy you gifts. They can choose to pay for one night stay at the hotel, or one meal. Look it up, its cool. As far as where to go, ask a travel agent. most times they dont charge you any more than you would pay because they get kickbacks from the company s…..hope this helps

Q: What do you think of my name??
I’m wondering what you think of my name. Everyone I run into that asks what my name is ends up saying its “unique, beautiful, fun, etc.” But I’m wondering what you guys think.. I was named after my parent’s honeymoon destination- The Cayman Islands. They took me there not that long ago. And it was beautiful. They said my name reflects it. But I’m still wondering… so what is my name, you ask??
Well it’s nothing other then “Micaylan” :) (When you say it, it sounds just like Mikayla, but instead of the ‘la’ sound, it makes a ‘lynn’ sound btw.)

A: I think it’s beautiful and unique! What a great story to go with it too! :)

Q: Las Vegas wedding ideas?
Well, I procrastinated a nice long year (and changed destinations a few times) for our wedding….
The date never changed, but it’s coming up FAST!
I am back at square one

We’ve finally just said “Let’s just do Vegas” because everyone that attends is bound to have fun.

We want to save some serious money for the honeymoon (Bangkok and Phucket Island, Thailand ) so our budget is going to be anywhere between $50 to $2,000.
We’re looking for something a little more classy than a drive-thru wedding, but less showy than a wedding package at Cesar’s Palace. Something simple and intimate… nothing that would require a large budget for decorations or venue rentals…. (all that crap that goes into a blowout wedding).
We’re both athiest, extremely laid-back and easy going. We don’t want a church/chapel wedding, though we don’t want to just sign a license at the JOP (mostly this is me refusing to spend my wedding day in a government building). We just want some sort of affordable ceremony surrounded by our family and friends, but also fun and unique.

Opportunity for photos is a must. I have a family of photographers, including myself, so something aesthetically pleasing is also a must (since the ole fiance hates his photo taken, this might be the one opportunity I’ll get where he’d HAVE to be in pictures).

I know, it’s totally cliche’ to get married in Vegas and really quite “un-unique”… but I know there are some creative folks with great ideas out there!

I’m looking forward to some great ideas, with an open-mind!
Thanks!

A: You could do the Bellagio (it’s very classy there). Do either the Deluxe Wedding Package or the Terrazza Di Sogno. Those packages are both $2000.

There are also nice packages at Mandalay Bay:

Or get married at the little white chapel.
