Q: Has anyone been to the Sydney Opera House?
I have always wanted to go to Australia, and seeing an opera at the Sydney Opera house is always on the high priority list. Has anyone been there that could tell me how it is and what it’s like?

Any information is appreciated!

A: I live in Sydney and I visit there regularly. Even though I live in Sydney, I never get bored of going there.

The outside is great! As you’re walking up the stairs to the top, you can feel a comfortable sea breeze if you’re lucky enough! Also, after enjoying the great Australian sunlight, stand under the Opera House for a great photo in the shade!

I’ve only been inside once and it’s like no other regular hall or auditorium. Every room there is huge! You can get lost easily in there lol.

I hope you will enjoy your time in Sydney and have fun! :)

Q: How does the Sydney Opera House affect Australian Identity?
Hi guys. I’m doing a report on the Opera House and part of it is describing how the building contributed to Australia’s national identity.

I know that it is a marvellous building, an icon of Australia and arts, a controversial building if you talk about its construction and also the fact that it is a World Heritage Site.

But I’m looking for a more elaborated answer. I’ve been googling it but I cant quite find what I’m looking for.

If you can find anything to help me or even try to make a paragraph about it I would be very thankful.

A: Like many other famous buildings all over the world , the Opera House has become both internationally recognised as well as one of the national symbols of Australia…..
When somebody overseas thinks of Australia the features they recall are Uluru, The Great Barrier Reef , The Sydney Harbour Bridge & The Opera House…
In just 40 years it has captured the minds of many with its’ unusual stylish shape & imposing presence on Bennelong Point..

Q: Can you suggest a thesis statement about the Sydney Opera House?
I am working on my thesis paper about the Sydney Opera House. Can you suggest a thesis statement about it?
Thanks for the help.

A: The architect who designed the Sydney opera house was out of his face on magic mushrooms when he came up with the idea. It was supposed to look like an opera house but instead came out looking like a large shellfish (he happened to be on mushrooms while walking on the beach). The development was too advanced by the time everyone realised the opera house was a whack job, so they decided to build it and pretend to the world that thats the way they had always intended it.

Theres your opening paragraph, fill in the rest and get an ‘A’.

Q: Can someone give me some key facts about the Sydney Opera House?
i need some key facts on the description, and just over all on the Sydney Opera House.

A: Opera house is their in Sydney. Opera house is near to Sydney Harbour Bridge .The Sydney Opera House is situated on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Opera house tour is one among the famous attractions in Sydney .

Q: Which restaurant or bar is best place for view of Sydney Opera house at night time for cockatail?
Which restaurant/bar/cafe is chic, elegant, and upscale, with a nice view of Opera house in Circular Bay area for a cocktail (after dinner)?

Which is best with nice harbour view in Darling Harbour area for a cocktail (after dinner)?

How far is it to walk from the Italian village to Hyatt hotel?

How far is it to walk from the fist market to Darling Harbour shopping centre?

A: Cruise Bar at the Overseas Passenger Terminal for the best view of Opera House. Indoor and outdoor seating. Walk past the Museum of Contemporary Art and it’s just there.

Cockle Bay Wharf or King St Wharf is much nicer than Darling Harbour – in same area. Try Bungalow 8, The Loft or Cargo Bar. The is also Home Bar.

By Italian Village do you mean the Italian Forum in Leichhardt? It’s too far to walk from the Hyatt – take public transport or taxi.

From fish market to darling harbour shopping centre, probably about 20 mins – but the shopping centre is not very nice. I recommend Pitt St Mall instead.

Have fun.

Im doing a report on the sydney opera house, Australia, and i was wondering who has performed there? please help, thank you!

A: I would think almost every major star in the world as it’s a very popular venue.

The Sydney Opera House is the busiest performing arts centre in the world. Since its opened in 1973, it has brought countless hours of entertainment to millions of people and has continued to attract the best in world class talent year after year.

Many visitors are surprised to find that the Sydney Opera House is really a complex of theatres and halls all linked together beneath its famous shells.

In an average year, the Sydney Opera House presents theatre, musicals, opera, contemporary dance, ballet, every form of music from symphony concerts to jazz as well as exhibitions and films. It averages around 3,000 events each year with audiences totaling up to two million. In addition, approximately 200,000 people take a guided tour of the complex each year. A: not at all.
the international air guitar championship was held there not long ago, and so was karoake night organised by mt.druitt RSL as part of their annual bingo get together celebration.
next year, they are doing pole dancing classes for kids under 5 on the opera stage.

Q: Can Sydney Opera House be seen from the plane when arriving Sydney?
And if so, how many minutes before the landing?

A: If you are coming in from the north, you can see the city with the harbour bridge and the opera house out of the windows on the left-hand side of the plane when it is on final descent. You will land two or three minutes later.

If the aeroplane is coming from the north but you are landing from the south, the plane will be off the coast as it makes its approach so the city will be seen from the right-hand side of the aircraft and you might see the opera house but from some distance. This would be five to ten minutes before landing.

Q: Measurements for the Sydney Opera House?
For my geometry class i must write a paper, draw a detailed picture to scale, and a 3-d visual to scale. But obviously i need detailed measurements to make a detailed and accurate job. I can not go out and and buy a model or I will get an F! :/ So i need some help i checked lots of web sites and googled it but found nothing. Can you find the detailed and accurate measurements of all of the Sydney Opera House?

A: This document might help, but the Sydney Opera House was built to an extremely complex architectural design, and I really doubt that the detailed measurements would be publicly available. Surely, if your class has to draw a picture to scale, you must have been given some guidelines.

Q: Is the Sydney opera house in danger of being lost?
Is it in danger of being lost, does preservation work need to be done?

A: The Sydney Opera House, would never be allowed to come to such a state, that it needed to be closed and people denied access, because of the possibility that they might be injured, though, the interior does need refurbishment – so a certain State Government does need to spend some of their budget on it.
