Q: princess cruises…?
i was wondering how the princess cruises were. I would be traveling with 2 adults, kids ages 13, 11, and 4 month old. We were thinking of going to the Eastern caribbean…i looked into pricing the cruise out, and it was relitivley cheap. How are those cruises in general? Is there alot to do for kids? (for the 13 and 11 year old) is the food good? I heard carnival wasnt so great, and disney is ridiculous…can any one recomend any other great cruise lines that would be suitable for all of us? I need as much info as i can get! thank you…
A: Princess is fantastic. They’re an elegant yet relaxed way to travel, and really strive to treat each guest royally. Your 13 and 11 year old should be fine, as Princess has great youth activity counselors, child and teen centers and depending on your ship, several pools and entertainment options which are kid-friendly. Your 4 month old will probably be as content taking a nap in a crib as going on a cruise; however, if I remember correctly, Princess offers an in-room nanny service at a slight surcharge if you’d like an evening alone.
The food is great on Princess, though perhaps not as good as Celebrity and Holland America Line, it is still miles ahead of Carnival, NCL and probably about the same as Royal Caribbean. Their excursions tend to be expensive but worth the price.
Overall, on a scale of 1 – 10, I’d probably give Princess an 8.5. Carnival would place around a 6 and Royal Caribbean around a 7.5. Celebrity and HAL would take top honors with 9.5 each. Regardless of what you do, it’ll be a lot of fun for you and your entire family.
Have fun!
Q: Princess Cruises??
Hi,
Has anyone ever gone on the Princess Cruise on the Coral Princess From vancouver to Alaska?
If you have could i please get some feed back, cause a friend and i would love to go sometime
Thanks
- only people who have gone on this please answer
xx.
A: WE went on a Princess cruise to Alaska a few years ago, and it was out of Vancouver, Canada. The ship was great and so was the food service and staff. The scenery is awesome and the ride is as smooth as you will get anywhere.
We actually did a cruise tour that included a land tour, mostly by train, after the cruise. The cruise-tour is really the best way to see Alaska because because in the inside passage you will see mountains, fjords, glaciers and maybe a few animals. The land tour part takes you by train from Anchorage to Fairbanks with a stop in Denali if you want to tour the park. That’s the best way to see bears, moose, wolves, and caribou.
But the cruise part is great and Princess hs some of the best ships of any cruise line and you will enjoy it.
Q: What is the legal drinking age policy for Princess Cruises ?
We will be going on a cruise to mexico through Princess Cruises soon and want to know if my wife can drink with us- she is only 19 right now. I realize i could probably just buy her drinks but would rather not do that.
A: The legal drink age on all cruise ships is age 21 and it does not change when you are in international waters or docked in a foreign port. Its still age 21 and older while you are on the ship. And Princess and all of the other cruise lines DO enforce it. The only exception to this is if you cruise from a European port and your parents sign a waiver for you to have beer and wine. Otherwise always no.
BUT, when you get to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, Acapulco, and other ports in Mexico you can drink all you want in the clubs, bars and restaurants because the drinking age in Mexico is age 18 and older. BUT, you cannot bring alcohol back on board the ship either as it will be confiscated by the cruise line.
While on ship you will have to go to a bar and buy drinks and bring them back to your lounge chair, your seat in the show room, and/or your table in the disco. They control who buys drinks by your cruise card that’s issued to you when you first board the ship. Each of you will get one and it will have all of your personal information embedded in the magnetic strip on the back. If she tries to buy a drink her card will show that she is underage. So you buy her drinks and you both act like you are older. No one is going to come by and ask for an ID unless you act silly like you are underage.

Q: Does it cost to use WiFi on Princess Cruises?
Hello! I’m going on a cruise through Princess Cruises soon aboard the Island Princess. I know the ship has an internet cafe and I have read that this company has WiFi access for those with laptops. I want to bring mine but I would like to know if you have to pay in order to access the internet. Some coffee cafes in my town require you to pay in order to use their service and I wasn’t sure if cruises worked the same way. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thanks!
A: Princess Cruises
Internet & Wi-Fi: Princess Cruises’ pay-as-you-go rate is currently 75 cents per minute. There are also three plans you can choose from: 100 minutes for $55 (55 cents per minute), 150 minutes for $75 (50 cents per minute), and 250 minutes for $100 (40 cents per minute). Wireless hotspots are available in public areas (though not in cabins) on all ships. The Sun Princess, Dawn Princess and Regal Princess have new Internet cafes; the number of terminals ranges from 8 to 26 depending on the ship.
Fees & Equipment: The aforementioned 75 cents per minute. One perk of its top tier frequent cruiser program is that those folks get credit towards package use (this is a departure from its previous policy of outright free Internet for Platinum and Elite members). Guests with laptops without wireless network cards can purchase a “Windows XP” compatible card onboard.

Q: What % off do you get by being on the Princess Cruises “family and friends” list ?
How much of a discount (percentage) can you get off of your cruise price by being on the friends and family list for Princess Cruises ? My wife and i are being placed on our friends list in a few weeks but i would like to try to budget our costs now. Thanks for the help!
A: The discount is only $25.00. Here’s the information from the Princess web site:

Answer: You must be a Princess past passenger who is at least 18 years old and a resident of the US or Canada. You may not be a travel agent or employee of Princess and/or the Carnival Corporation.

Answer: When you refer friends and relatives who meet the criteria described above they will each receive a $25 discount off of their first Princess cruise, and once they’ve sailed you will receive a $25 cruise discount for each customer you refer.
Question: Can I receive the $25 in the form of an onboard credit?
Answer: The Referral Reward is applied as a $25 discount off your first Princess cruise. We are not able to offer this as a credit towards your onboard account.”
Q: Who would be a better cruise line to take to Alaska, Royal Caribbean or Princess Cruises?
My Grandmother, Sister and I are going to Alaska and I am wanting to know who would be a better cruise line to take. My Grandmother has taken a cruise to Australia with Princess Cruises, and she loved the service and food. So we are considering going with them, but the also have alot of older people there, and they aren’t as kid friendly as Royal Caribbean is. Does Royal Caribbean have good food and service like Princess. Also I love Photography and Videography, so if any of you have tips or ideas of places to see or do, Please let me know
A: We took RCL to Alaska last August and everything was excellent. The food was exceptional and all-in-all it was a very good cruise. The service is great!!
Q: I have an interview with Princess Cruises, any tips?
I have an interview with Princess Cruises next week (through the recruitment agency, PMC Marine) to work in one of the Boutiques on board one of the Princess Cruise Ships. Has anyone been through a Princess interview that could maybe please give me some tips and advice?
A: When preparing for your interview, make sure that you are well groomed and dressed appropriately. As you enter, walk tall, and if the interviewer initiates a handshake, make sure that you respond politely and with a firm grip. When seated, lean slightly forward, uncross your arms, maintain eye contact, and project a positive attitude during your meeting.
Answer the questions in such a way as to reflect how your strengths will benefit your potential employer. At the end of the interview, express that you are glad for the chance to meet with the interviewer, and that you feel that this is a position that you can do well at. Let them know that you want this job. You might even ask if they would consider hiring you on a 30-day trial period to prove that you can do the job.
Once your interviewer stands, it signal that the interview is over. If they extend their hand, be sure to return with a firm handshake. Thank them for the opportunity to discuss your potential of working for them.
After your interview, you need to respond immediately with a thank you letter, and possibly a call if it was discussed in your meeting. For ideas on how to do this, read the following article on how to format your thank you letter.
Q: I am going on a Med. cruise shortly with Princess Cruises and I have a question about my onboard bill?
I have just found out that princess cruises charge 3% to convert my onboard bill to dollars. As I expect to spend afew bob at the bars and casino this could add a substantial amount to my bill .Is there a way round this conversion charge?
This bill is presented at the end of the cruise whereupon a charge of 3% is added in order for the cruise company to convert the bill from pounds to dollars. As I intend to spend a few bob at the bars and organised trips 3% could amount to a fair amount.Has anyone else encountered this situation and found a way of avoiding paying an extra 3% on top of this bill?
A: yeah, pay with credit card and let the bank do the conversion for you, my bank doesn’t charge me for that, some do charge but it’s less than 3p/c
Q: How much does the unlimited beverage pass cost on Princess Cruises?
We’re going on a cruise in November, the Crown Princess, and we were wondering how much a pass for unlimited drinks/beverages/sodas/whatever you wanna call it costs.
Thanks!
A: my husband and i just got back from our honeymoon on princess and it cost us 20 per person for unlimited sodas, thats all they offer, they do not offer a package for alcohol and i figured out why, thier drinks are about $5-8.00 a drink and i barely drank but my hubby racked up over $300.00 (for a 10 day cruise).. also we realized we didnt really need to spend $40 on sodas for both of us, only he went up for the drinks most of the time you can ask for as many as you want at a time, they seen the sticker on his card and we both got a soda, so if we were smart we would have only paid $20 and only used his card! live and learn right?
Q: What is the dating game on the Princess Cruises?
I’m going on a Princess cruise to Alaska and All my cousins are coming. So we all are pretty much teens and we all want to know what the dating game in the teen’s club is.
A: Well, we played the dating game in our French class a few times, and I’m not sure if this is exactly what it is, but I think that it is when there are two rows filled with people that are facing each other, and one of these rows will be the “listener” and the other row with be the “answerer.” Someone will make up a question that the “answerer,” will have to answer, talking to the person in front of them in the other row. These will be random, sometimes personal questions so that other people will know who you are. After one question has been answered, everyone in one row will move to the right one spot, and another question will be asked, which they will then answer to the new person/”listener” in front of them. This game was created so that people will get to know each other better; perhaps an opening portal for meeting other teens on the ship and maybe even beginning relationships. lol
HAVE FUN ON YOUR PRINCESS CRUISE! You’re soo lucky…
Q: What exactly is a thermal suite on Princess Cruises?
I am looking to book a cruise on the Star Princess and the ship has a “thermal suite” on it. All the brochure says is it is a good place to go to relax before or after a spa service. But what exactly is it?
A: From a description of another Princess ship found on Travelocity: “…and a heavenly thermal suite where you’ll find heated tile lounge chairs with water running through them. (The thermal suite may be used by anyone receiving a spa treatment that same day.)”
It also seems like saunas and steamrooms are part of most thermal suites, along with showers. Here are some photos I found of a couple’s cruise vacation on Holland America (probably very similar to what you’ll find on Princess): http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/thermal.html
Q: How much does the unlimited beverage pass cost on Sea Princess Cruises?
We’re going on a cruise in june 2010, on the Sea Princess for 10 days.and was wondering how much a unlimited Drink Card costs? (for sodas) also if you know about the coffee card let me know that too. thanks
A: A soda card cost about $4 a day. Canned drinks normally cost about $2 and the card is only good for fountain soda. It is only worth it if you have at least 3 sodas a day.
The coffee card is a punch card and is good for 15 specialty coffees and never expires. As long as there is one punch left you can get unlimited regular brewed coffee. It is about $27. Specialty coffees are normally $2.50-$3.00. Free coffee without the card is instant coffee syrup.

Q: how are the cruises to hawaii on princess cruise?
My husband and I are going to Hawaii 15 day cruise on Diamond Princess we are wondering about the service and how the trips are.
A: Check out CruiseCritic.com, “Boards” for all the info you could possibly want! Have a great time!
Q: How are PRincess cruises for teens?
I might be on the Caribbean princess cruise. Is it fun for teens. How is it overall?
A: I went on that ship around christmas. You will love it. I think the ages are like 14 and above for the teen club? But it’s reallly fun. They do a lot of activities and things. The pool isnt the greatest. Uhh, unfortunately you can only get free ice cream like one hour a day lol. The dining rooms are absolutely amazing! And the service is wonderful. The shopping is pretty good too. And overall, it’s a really great ship.
